The Glory of His Presence
In a world that often feels chaotic, “Majesty” calls our hearts back to the throne of God. This beloved anthem is more than just a song; it is a declaration of the authority and sovereign power of Jesus Christ. As you listen to this instrumental rendition, let your soul be lifted to a place of pure adoration for the King of kings.
The Scriptural Foundation
This hymn is a beautiful reflection of the praise found in Psalm 104:1 (NKJV):
“Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty,”
It also echoes the eternal worship described in Revelation 4, where all of creation bows before the one who sits upon the throne.
Historical Context
Written by Pastor Jack Hayford in 1977, the song was birthed during a trip to Great Britain. While traveling through the countryside and seeing the symbols of royalty, Hayford felt a deep sense that the Church should walk in the “Kingdom Authority” of Christ. He penned these words to remind every believer that they serve a King whose majesty flows from His throne into their very lives.
Hymn Lyrics (Part I)
Majesty,
Worship His majesty;
Unto Jesus be all glory,
Honor, and praise.
Majesty,
Kingdom authority,
Flow from His throne
Unto His own,
His anthem raise.
Hymn Lyrics (Part II)
So exalt,
Lift up on high the name of Jesus.
Magnify, come glorify,
Christ Jesus the King.
Majesty,
Worship His majesty;
Jesus who died, now glorified,
King of all kings.
